indulge like a princess now and then. That quest
becomes easier with Principessa, a line of products
that pamper with natural ingredients but without an
over indulgence of perfumes.
“We wanted to create something that smells, and works, as good as it looked,” stated Trish Lucarino from her British Columbia, Canadia office. “I wanted a product that would have dynamite packaging along with superior ingredients, scents and performance.”
And in that she has succeeded. The Princepess line, while not organic, combines natural products, Safflower, Meadowfoam, Aloe Vera, Sweet Almond and Jojoba oils to create a wonderful line of bath and skin care products.
Personally, I love the Cattiva Diva silky hand cream. The scent is light and can be worn with other perfumes and, the best part; I can refresh my hands and get right back to the keyboards without leaving a layer of grease. The Principessa “Bellina Box” is a portable spa package that is so cute it doesn’t need to be wrapped. Inside, Cattiva Diva Silk Hand Cream, Dolce Dreams Whipped Body Lotion, Fresh Fiore Shower Cream and a pink Principessa pouf for scrubbing and exfoliating.

Donne Tempo: Where does the name come from?
Trish: My husband is Italian and it is what he calls me, it means princess. And we are all princesses, right?
DT: What do men want to consider when purchasing beauty products for a gift?
LT: Quality, of course. Are the products natural and filled with good ingredients? And then, there is the scent. What type of scent does the lady care for? You might want to find out, if you don’t already know, what scent she wears most often and then ask the counter consultant for help. The Principessa scents are light, but also very distinctive. A man should know if the scent would suit his woman.
DT: What are the Principessa scents?
LT: There is Bellocia (irresistible) that has top notes of peach and vanilla flower, middle notes of night blooming jasmine and ylang ylang, and bottom notes of sandalwood and warm amber. It is a delicious scent. Then there is Isolina (little island) with notes of violet leaves and mimosa, middle notes of rose petals and orange flower and bottom notes of heliotrope and previous woods. Both are distinct, but can be layered well with each other.
DT: What is the purpose of the “Amore Afterglow” Salt Buff and how should it be used?
TL: The “Amore Afterglow” exfoliates and detoxifies the skin. The vitamin e, along with the oils, moisturizes the skin while the salt gently removes dead skin, invigorating the body and giving your skin new tone and lift.
DT: A great product that you have is the “Bianco Breeze” hair and body powder.
LT: That product is loved around the world. It uses a cornstarch base, instead of talc, so it is great for children or people who do not want to inhale talcum powder. The product is lightly scented. As a hair talc, the cornstarch is an ages old secret. For fine hair or hair that cannot be washed for whatever reason, brush Bianco Breeze through your hair and it will absorb oils, separate the hair and make it full and give it a lovely scent. Principessa’s who are around smokers love it for that reason. It removes the cigarette smoke smell from their hair.
